The Booking Process

Easy as 1, 2, 3

Step 1: Choosing Your Trip

I am always developing new ideas for trips and adventures for you to consider, so please use the main menu to choose what type of activity you are interested in: Boat, Boot, Bike or Slow Adventure (these are longer trips where there is an emphasis upon spending time in nature). Have a good look through everything, even if only to enjoy the pictures and find some inspiration. Don’t forget the blog where you will find other ideas and learn more about the business.

Every one of these suggested trips is heavily influenced by my view of outdoor ‘adventure’ (i.e. adventure at your level and not necessarily ‘adrenaline pumping’ adventure), by my own experiences and local knowledge, but mostly by the landscapes, weather and culture of the region.

Some trips have fixed dates and can be booked online and a deposit paid, but most are booked upon request. While it requires you to click the ‘Enquire’ button and send me an email, I find this keeps everything more personal and ensures a more tailored trip for you.

Please remember that all the trips listed are mostly ideas based upon my personal experience and knowledge of the area, but all of them can be modified to suit your interpretation of ‘adventure’ or your ambitions for going outdoors and exploring.

If you wish to modify an existing trip or ask about different dates, please contact me directly before booking so we can put something together that suits you.

Hopefully there will already be something for you and you will want to book it there and then!

But hold on…

  • Have you read all the information on the website regarding the trip?
  • Do you know what you should bring or where and when you should meet?

If not, have another look and make sure your questions have been answered before you book. If you are still unsure about something or need to discuss something (e.g. a medical condition), then get in touch as soon as you can. Just bear in mind that this is a small company (just me) and I may on the water or in the mountains enjoying myself guiding!*

Don’t forget to also read our Terms and Conditions as you will be asked to accept these as part of the booking process when you come to pay (either online or over the phone).

* Please note that I’ve been are pretty good at doing both at the same time for almost 35 years…

Step 2: Paying

We have made life as easy as possible for you when it comes to paying; not because we desperately want your money, but because we want the process to be as straight forward as possible and completed in as few steps as possible.

Once you have chosen your tour, have look to see if there are specific dates attached to it. If there are, you can book and pay a deposit online. Add the required number of people into your shopping cart (children are under the ‘More Options’ button) and you will see a total for your trip.

We have been known to give out discount codes occasionally so, if you have one, please enter it in the relevant place and click the ‘Apply Coupon’ button. Then go ahead and click the ‘Proceed to Checkout’ button.

You will then need to enter your details so we know how to get in touch with you to discuss any issues arising from your booking or to email further details to you. If you wish to create an account (perhaps because you may want to use our services again…), then tick the box, but it is not essential.

If there are any details about your group that we should know (e.g. ages of children, medical details, level of experience in the sport chosen, etc.) then please ensure you let us know in the ‘Your Comment’ box before proceeding to payment.

Choose you method of payment: Worldpay process most cards – we especially like American Express; PayPal enables you to pay from your account (if you have one) or pay with a card if you don’t; and we also accept Bank Transfers (BACS).

Last chance to ensure that you have read our Terms and Conditions – Tick the box to say that you have and then click the proceed button…

Step 3: Anticipation

That’s it – you are done!

Now sit back and await a confirmation of payment email from your chosen provider. This is not a confirmation of booking – that will come direct from us once we have received notification of your payment and are able to send you a confirmation email along with further details (most of which you should have read on our website).

Then wait. And wait. And let the antici….pation grow.

Make sure you have packed everything you have been asked to bring and that everyone in your group is as organised as you are.

If any questions crop up between booking and the trip, please do get in touch by email or phone and we will get an answer for you as soon as possible.

And we will look forward to welcoming you to your trip on the agreed date!
