Outside of our peak season*, we will be hiring canoes, kayaks and paddle boards to paddlers with the skills and experience to explore independently. The ability to self-rescue and rescue others paddling with them is a minimum requirement. We don't check ability or qualifications so you must use your own judgement as to whether it is appropriate for you to head out onto the water.
Short-term hire (3, 6 or 9 hours) must be booked via our website using the links below or through the 'Book now' button and selecting 'Hire'. These will take place on Loch Sunart in Strontian as we can drop you and equipment at the community jetty just two minutes walk from our base.

Look down into the water and the seaweed and wildlife as you glide across the water exploring at a leisurely pace. You may wish for children under twelve years to share a board with an adult throughout.
We have a selection of kayaks available in different sizes to suit everyone except he tallest or biggest people. As they are all paddled solo, we suggest that only children over 12 years use these - or be prepared to wait for them.
Enjoy the space, freedom and confidence a canoe affords as you journey on Loch Sunart and build your own short adventures. Six years would be a sensible minimum age and we recommend that those under 12 share a board with an adult.
We offer several guided adventures on and off-road for those with their own bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes can be hired from Sunart Cycles (also in Strontian). If hiring for a guided adventure with us, we can meet you at a suitable location with the bikes.
We are developing our range of cycling products and services in conjunction with Otterburn Bed & Breakfast and are able to offer a limited emergency bike repair service. We also are a retailer for Peaty's bicycle cleaners, chain lubes, etc., Michelin inner tubes and tyres and Birzman puncture repair kits. We don't hold many tyres here, but can order them in fairly quickly. Ardgour Ales near the Corran, also stock inner tunes, puncture repair kits and small bottles of chain lube.
* Our "Peak season' starts with the Scottish school holidays (typically later June) and ends with the return of the English schools (typically early September).
